Scholarship in Teaching

The University established the Scholarship in Teaching Fund in 2004 to support and enhance learning and teaching a CSU. The scholarship of teaching is the systematic and rigorous reflection on university learning and teaching by academic staff. It includes the development and evaluation of new approaches to teaching, critical discourse about learning and teaching, and analyses of professional and institutional cultures and frameworks as they bear on learning and teaching. The scholarship of teaching is relevant to all disciplines and professional fields within the University.
These guidelines were reviewed in 2012 to ensure greater alignment with the strategic priorities of CSU and with priorities and processes of the OLT grants system.
The purposes of the Scholarship in Teaching Fund are:
- To promote the strategic directions of CSU as identified in the 2011-15 Course Profile, Student Experience and Research plans
- To enhance the capacity of CSU staff members to participate in OLT Grants scheme in priority areas defined in OLT Innovation & Development Grants and Leadership Grants or in other external learning and teaching grant schemes
