Vision
How we see ourselves

A national university for excellence in education for the professions, strategic and applied research and flexible delivery of learning and teaching.

We are an integral partner in the University’s teaching, learning and research through excellence in the provision of innovative library services, accessible anywhere, anytime - "Library without walls"

Mission
Our fundamental purpose

  • To provide distinctive educational programs for the professions that prepare students for work and citizenship
  • To conduct strategic and applied research which is nationally and internationally recognised
  • To lead in the quality provision of flexible learning and teaching, and
  • To enhance its communities, which include:
    • Rural and regional Australia
    • Indigenous Australians
    • The professions, industries and students for whom we provide research and education, and
    • National and international institutions, scholars and researchers with whom our staff and students are linked.

We use our professional expertise to provide the University and its communities with:

  • Intuitive, reliable and timely access to quality collections, information and services; and
  • Virtual and physical spaces that foster research, study and interaction in an environment where diversity and ideas are embraced and respected.
