Quality Framework Statement
The Division of Library Services Quality Framework reflects the eight quality principles outlined in the Business Excellence Framework*. These are:
- Leadership
- Customers
- Systems Thinking
- People
- Continuous Improvement
- Information & Knowledge
- Corporate & Social Responsibility
- Sustainable Results
The framework also reflects and applies the four part quality cycle – Plan Implement Review Improve (PIRI) – as followed by Charles Sturt University. The framework aligns with the Charles Sturt University strategic planning process and top-level plans.
A culture of planning and performance is built through continuous improvement.
The Quality Framework provides a mechanism for:
- Identifying, implementing, measuring, improving, tracking and managing quality
- Growing a culture of quality and continuous improvement in the Division of Library Services.
The Framework aims to achieve the following outcomes for all Library activities:
- Alignment with CSU and Division of Library Services strategic priorities
- Consistency of practice and service
- Efficiency and sustainability
- Established Performance Indicators – evidence-based information
- Management information, tools and systems to retain corporate knowledge
- Standards to ensure quality and compliance
- Engagement of key stakeholders
- Documented and applied responsibilities and accountabilities
- Staff knowledge and awareness through effective communication
- PIRI cycle embedded in all processes
- Useability - key tools and resources are accessible and able to be applied by all Division of Library Services staff.
Outcomes will be achieved through:
- Leadership, vision and readiness for change
- Culture of continuous improvement and innovation
- Client focus
- Integrated systems and processes that address One Library approach
- Communication
- Continuous review of the Framework to ensure it remains valid
- Quality Framework Project to:
- Consolidate and review key decision-making documents
- Identify and implement standards for consistency and best practice
- Implement work process improvement
- Engage, inform and educate Library staff
