Ovid's Biosis Previews database is a continuation of the Biological Abstracts (1995 - Dec 2001) database. Both cover life science research including original research reports and reviews in biological and biomedical areas. Specific coverage includes the traditional areas of biology, botany, zoology and microbiology, as well as agriculture, pharmacology, ecology, and veterinary medicine. Interdisciplinary fields such as biotechnology, biochemistry, biophysics, and bioengineering are also included. Nearly 5,500 serials are monitored for inclusion. The databases also provide content summaries, books and meeting abstracts, papers and posters.
These two Ovid databases can be searched individually but the link here provides CSU staff and students with concurrent searching of both.
The Biological Abstracts database covers 1995 - December 2001, while Biosis Previews covers 2002 - current.
