CAPAD is both a textual and spatial database. The textual data in tabular format is available to all clients accessing this web-site and can be downloaded in MsExcel format. The spatial data is housed on the Department of the Environment and Heritage ERIN platform and provides clients in Australia and elsewhere the ability to receive timely and accurate summary statistics on National Parks and all other terrestrial and marine protected areas. However, the spatial data is subject to license agreements and is not a freely available dataset.
The Department of the Environment and Heritage is responsibility for the maintenance of CAPAD with the cooperation of State and Territory Government departments and agencies.
