The International Children’s Digital Library provides free access to children’s books from around the world. It archives literature expressly for 3 to 13 year olds and is fully searchable. The ICDL aims to ultimately make 10 000 titles available and has as one of its goals to expose children to “new and foreign ideas” to help them understand the world around them and the global society in which they live. As well as children, intended users include parents, librarians, teachers and researchers of children’s literature.
