Journal Citation Reports

Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is a tool for journal evaluation, using citation data drawn from over 8,400 journals from over 3,000 publishers worldwide.

JCR is published annually in two editions:

• Science Edition, with data from roughly 5,000 journals in the areas of science and technology
• Social Sciences Edition, with data from roughly 1,500 journals in the social sciences

JCR includes information about the:

• highest impact journals in a field
• most frequently used journals in a field
• "hottest" journals in a field
• leading journals in a field
• related journals in a field
