Business Source Complete  is available via the EBSCOhost interface and is a replacement for, and effectively an upgrade to, the Business Source Premier database. It contains significantly more content than Business Source Premier, especially in the area of full-text content.

Full-text content includes more than 1600 peer-reviewed journals and more than 1500 trade journals and general business magazines but also includes significant non-journal full-text content as follows (as at August 2009):

EBSCOhost offers a special “Enhanced Business Searching Interface" for this database. (You can access this searching interface from the full list of EBSCOhost databases, within the EBSCOhost interface.).

All disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, economics, market research reports, industry reports, country reports, company profiles and SWOT analyses.

Contains the full text for more than 1,100 peer-reviewed journals, and for more than 1,000 trade journals and general business magazines. Searchable cited references back to 1998 are provided for some titles. Full text titles are available in HTML full-text or (searchable) PDF format. Coverage varies, with some full text content from 1965- .

Please note that CSU Library now has a subscription to the database Business Source Complete, which is a replacement for, and effectively an update of, Business Source Premier. The listings for Business Source Premier will be removed at the beginning of 2010.

Content from sources such as The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, and The New York Times includes all (not just Business-related) material.

afr.com also includes a range of financial charts and investment tools.

This database gives full-text access to Emerald's complete collection of 175 journals, plus "reviews" (abstracts of articles) from 300 journals, in the area of international management research.

Specific areas covered include: business and management; library and information science; accounting; leadership; marketing; human resource management; industrial and organisational psychology; plus engineering, applied science, and technology. Flagship titles include: Management Decision , European Journal of Marketing , Leadership & Organization Development Journal , Journal of Consumer Marketing , and Library Management .

Material includes journal articles, case studies, literature reviews, book reviews, conference information, interviews, and profiles.

There is also access to a range of online resources in the areas of research, management, writing, and teaching.

Coverage varies according to individual journals but full-text access includes from 1967 - current. The database is updated monthly.

Wiley InterScience is a database of journals published by Wiley-Blackwells Publishing.

CSU has access to the bulk of this collection in full-text – nearly 1300 journals. Users can search the collection using a simple or advanced search, and can browse by title or subject area.

Subjects covered range across all disciplines: Business, Education, Law, Medicine, Science, Social Sciences, and the Humanities.

Coverage dates vary with title.

Note: CSU previously had access to this material under the separate listings of Blackwell Synergy, and Wiley InterScience. On I July 2008 Blackwell Publishing merged with John Wiley & Sons, and all Wiley-Blackwell’s online products are now provided in a single online platform.

Factiva is the successor to Dow Jones Interactive and Reuters Business Briefing, previously produced by Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive.

It is a global news and business information service. It covers the humanities, science, health, education and other subjects but has a focus on business, including business news, and company and industry research.

The database integrates content from newspapers (including The Age, and The SMH), Dow Jones newswires, business journals, market research reports, analyst reports, and websites. Much of the material is available in full-text.

Coverage varies, from 1980 - .

Informaworld is a one-stop site hosting the full text of more than 1000 eJournals published by Taylor & Francis, Routledge, Psychology Press, Lawrence Erlbaum, Haworth Press, and Multilingual Matters, as well as citations from hundreds of other journals.

Prior to May 2009, CSU Library had access to only the full-text of the Routledge collection of education journals, but now has access to a much wider collection of journals covering a range of subject areas.

One of the benefits of Informaworld to CSU users is that it closes the “embargo” gap for a large number of eJournals already available via EBSCOhost: that is, it provides the full-text of recent issues of journals which are not available (for the most recent 12 months) in EBSCOhost.

The collection works like a database and offers a range of browse, search, and saved search options.

A standard search will return results that are both citation-only and full-text. SFX links are NOT available in this database, but users can limit their searches to (predominantly) full-text results by ticking the “My subscriptions only” box.

CAB Abstracts is a bibliographic database produced by CAB International (CABI) which covers the following subject areas:

• Agriculture, including animal production and welfare, horticulture, crop science and protection, applied economics and rural studies

• Animal and Veterinary Sciences, including animal nutrition, entomology, aquaculture and equine science

• Environmental Sciences, including, ecology and climate change, forestry, soil science, and hydrology

• Human Health, Food and Nutrition, including food science and communicable diseases

• Leisure and Tourism

• Microbiology and parasitology, including mycology, bacteriology and virology

• Plant Sciences, including biotechnology, plant protection, and crop science

Originally a citation-only database, from January 2009 the database includes full-text content which was previously only available through a separate subscription. This includes more than 36,000 journal articles, reports, and conference papers.

Updating is monthly.

CAB Abstracts is also available to CSU users in a package covering 2000 – Present.

Australian Tourism Index (ATI), produced by the Department of Hospitality, Tourism and Marketing, Victoria University of Technology, is an Australian database of citations and article summaries covering tourism and related fields.

Source documents include books, conference proceedings, audiovisual material, newspapers, journals, reports, commercial publications, unpublished material and government documents. Since 1993 all Pacific Asia Travel Association publications relevant to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific have been included.

Subject coverage includes leisure, recreation, sport, tourism and travel.

CSU Library subscribes to two key resources which are available in full-text in Thomson’s Tax and Accounting Online service (previously known as TaxPoint). These are Australian Tax Handbook and Accountant’s Manual, and they are available under the heading of “Tax Analytical Services”.

The database also includes a number of other full-text resources on taxation and accounting in Australia, mainly taxation legislation, and material from the ATO which includes bulletins, alerts, and rulings & guidelines. There is also material on bankruptcy and corporate compliance.

The database can be searched, either by individual resource or across all resources, or it can be browsed using an expandable Table of Contents.

The ACCOUNT database, formerly the Australian Accounting & Taxation Database (AATD), is produced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts published and unpublished material on accounting and related business topics.

Source documents are Australian journal articles, conference papers and academic research papers.

Subject coverage includes accounting, auditing, taxation, insolvency, financial management, corporation law, banking, electronic data processing, management and superannuation.

TAXABS, produced by Information Services at the Australian Taxation Office, is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts journals primarily in the area of taxation law but also including other areas of interest such as child support, accounting, business, finance and superannuation from 1992 onwards.

Source documents include more than  20 journals. Some journals, such as The Bulletin and BRW,  were indexed selectively for taxation and related information, while others were indexed comprehensively with relevant cases and legislative references included.

Subject coverage focuses on technical information on taxation, and includes articles on accounting, auditing, business, capital gains tax, finance, fringe benefits tax, goods and services tax, international tax (with Australian content), law, superannuation, taxation rulings, and tax administration.

International Taxation Issues Database (INTAX), produced by Information Services at the Australian Taxation Office, is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts published material on taxation aspects of international profit shifting and related taxation topics from 1990 onwards.

Source documents are journal articles from over 60 Australian and international journals. Records include legislative references and case citations.

Subject coverage includes tax planning, avoidance and evasion, transfer pricing, foreign source income, electronic commerce, and consumption taxes.

Coverage 1990 - July 2003.

Includes more than 1200 peer reviewed full text journals and a growing number of online books, including the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Subject areas include Education, Mathematics, Medicine, Science and Technology. Coverage varies.

Ingenta is a database of current article summaries from more than 20,000 multidisciplinary journals with links to the full text of over 4,500 titles. The database can be searched for free.

CSU subscribes to a limited number of full-text journals via Ingenta.

For journals to which CSU does not subscribe, users can, for the majority of articles, choose a pay-per-view option, with electronic, fax, or Ariel delivery from Ingenta.

ScienceDirect contains over 1700 Elsevier Science journals, most from 1996 forward and some from 1993 forward. New titles are added on a regular basis.

ScienceDirect also contains full-text journals from other participating publishers.

ScienceDirect currently currently offers the full text of journals from AIChE, CRC Press, and ASM International, and either host or link to the full text content of Cell Press titles. It is the goal of ScienceDirect to offer subscribers an electronic full text "library" on a scale greater than anything previously available, containing content from a variety of leading STM publishers. CSU does not subscribe to all the full text titles included in ScienceDirect.

Canadian business, current affairs, education and reference. Subject coverage is comprehensive. Information is present from all areas including: current events, business, education, science and medicine, arts, law, academia, and lifestyles, all with a Canadian focus. Full text is available within these areas. CBCA Complete is ideal for anyone interested in Canada.

Source documents include academic, administrative, professional, topical journals, magazines, newspapers, and newsletters; over 540 periodicals and daily news sources ( over 480 of which are Canadian), plus indexing to an additional 1,100 other titles (over 95% Canadian).

Current Contents includes tables of contents and citations from journals from all disciplines. Abstracts are available for approximately 75% of records. Covers more than 7,000 international journals for the last five years.

There is no full-text of the articles in Current Contents but the SFX linking software can be used to locate full-text either in another online database or in a print holding in the library catalogue. In this database SFX is activated by clicking on the "Links" icon located beneath each citation.

Web of Science is an amalgamation of 3 citations databases including .....

These databases can be searched individually or together, and can be used to locate articles by a range of criteria. They can also be used to locate citing articles (ie articles that have cited a specific reference).

There is no full-text of the articles but the SFX linking software can be used to locate full-text either in another online database or in a print holding in the library catalogue. In this resource SFX is activated by clicking on the "Links" icon located beneath each citation.

• The Arts & Humanities Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database covering the journal literature of the arts and humanities. It indexes 1,144 of the world's leading arts and humanities journals, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 6,800 major science and social science journals.

• The Science Citation Index Expanded is a multidisciplinary database, with searchable abstracts, covering the journal literature of the sciences. It indexes more than 5,700 major journals across 164 scientific disciplines.

• The Social Sciences Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database, with searchable abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It indexes more than 1,725 journals spanning 50 disciplines, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 of the world's leading scientific and technical journals.

SAGE Journals Online is the platform providing online full-text access to the approximately 485 journals published by SAGE. These journals are in the subject areas of Business, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Technology, and Medicine.

CSU staff and students have some full-text access to most of the journals in this database.

The platform allows for searching within individual journal titles or across the whole database, and for browsing journals by title, or articles by discipline. The My Tools feature allows for customising the product, including creating alerts, saving citations and searches, and setting up “My Favourite Journals”.

All SAGE journal content is peer-reviewed with 46% of journals ranked in the Thomson Scientific 2005 Journal Citation Reports®.

Coverage varies according to each journal, but extends as far back as 1879.

Oxford Journals is a collection of more than 200 full-text journals published by Oxford University Press.

These journals are from a variety of disciplines including the arts, humanities, law, life sciences, medicine, science, and social science.

Coverage is generally 1998 - . CSU users should have access to all post-1996 material in full-text.

Australian Public Affairs - Full Text (APA-FT), is an indexing and full text database that provides access to the scanned images of journal articles from published material on the social sciences and humanities. It is based on the journal indexing of the database Australian Public Affairs Information Service (APAIS), which is produced by the National Library of Australia.

Of the more than 2000 journals indexed, full-text access is included to nearly 500 journals, though more than half of these are only selectively indexed (that is, not all the items in the original issue of the journal are included in the database).

Subject coverage includes Australian business, health, current affairs, economics, humanities, law, leisure, literature, politics, and social sciences.

Cambridge Journals Online includes approximately 100 full text journals in a range of subject areas, published by Cambridge University Press.

American Economic Association database of economic literature. Includes Journal of Economic Literature and abstracts of books, journal articles, and working papers published by the Cambridge University Press.

Giblin Working Papers Database (GIBLIN), produced by the Giblin Economics and Commerce Library, University of Melbourne, is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts working papers on economics and business topics.

Source documents are working papers, also known as research papers or discussion papers. Most papers emanate from major universities and research institutes in Australia, Europe (including the UK) and the USA.

Subject coverage includes economics, econometrics, economic modelling, finance, accounting, banking, international trade, taxation, management, marketing and employee relations.

Coverage 1990 - .

Margaret Gee's Australian Media Guide is a directory of the major Australian media outlets, including: television and radio stations; internet media; newspapers, newsletters, and magazines; and press agencies . It includes profiles and contact listings as well as circulation figures, publication details and base advertising rates.

The directory has a relatively simple search functionality, but also provides lists of media outlets (by various categories), and of media contacts (by print and radio/tv). These lists are in spreadsheet format.

The directory is updated every 4 months.

SNIPER, produced by the Library at IP Australia, is a bibliographic database of journal articles, conference papers, and other documents about issues in intellectual property. It provides a knowledge base to support policy, awareness and research in intellectual property matters.

Source documents: Content is gathered from journals in IP Australia Library's collections, with further reference to other journals, conference papers, book chapters and electronic documents, as appropriate. URL links are supplied to freely available material. Approximately 100-150 new items are added to SNIPER each month.

Subject coverage: SNIPER provides information relating to IP Australia's core business areas, namely patents, trade marks and designs. SNIPER also includes other topics that impact on IP Australia's business, especially related intellectual property matters such as copyright, plant breeder's rights and domain names. These related matters are included if they relate to significant Australian or international trends and developments, or if they are significant to the field of intellectual property as a whole.

Search Aids: SNIPER Thesaurus (inhouse thesaurus): The thesaurus has two parts: Subject Thesaurus and Names. The Subject Thesaurus comprises approximately 800 terms and is structured on the model of the APAIS Thesaurus. The Names Thesaurus controls approximately 300 names of corporate bodies, treaties, etc.

The Market Access Database is an important operational tool of the European Union's Market Access Strategy, supporting a continuous three-way exchange of information between: the EU institutions, Member States and European business. The Market Access Strategy is a key pillar of the EU's Trade Policy which aims to reduce the obstacles faced by European exporters of goods and services. The Market Access Database is a free and interactive service providing:

• Information about Market Access conditions in non-EU countries.
• A systematic way for the European Commission to follow up complaints from businesses about barriers to trade in non-EU countries.
• A means of ensuring that Europe's trading partners are abiding by their international commitments.
• Better input for defining the EU's trade policy objectives on further trade liberalisation in the framework of the World Trade Organisation (e.g. Doha Development Agenda) and new free trade agreements between the EU and preferential partners (e.g. EU - MERCOSUR).

JSTOR is a searchable archive of full text journals.

JSTOR is an archive of journal backfiles. IT DOES NOT CONTAIN THE CURRENT ISSUES OF THESE JOURNAL TITLES. Each journal publisher has determined what years will be available through the database. In some instances publishers have provided all backfiles excluding the current year. For other titles backfiles may exclude the current and preceding two, three or four years.

CSU has access to following JSTOR "collections":

Arts & Sciences I. Established in 1997, JSTOR's first collection includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics. Overall, there are 119 titles in fifteen disciplines.

Arts & Sciences II. The Arts & Sciences II Collection is home to 124 titles. This collection adds depth to many disciplines introduced in Arts & Sciences I, such as economics, history, and Asian studies. Arts & Sciences II also offers core journals in several new disciplines, such as archaeology, classics, and African, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Slavic studies.

Arts & Sciences III. Arts & Sciences III includes journals in languages and literature, as well as essential titles in the fields of music, film studies, folklore, performing arts, religion, and the history and study of art and architecture. There are 150 titles in this collection.

Biological Sciences. The Biological Sciences Collection brings together the 29 journals available in JSTOR’s existing Ecology & Botany Collection with more than 100 titles that span the sciences. The collection is particularly strong in ecology and evolutionary biology, plant and animal sciences, paleontology, and conservation.

ANZ Newsstand is an online newspaper service provided by ProQuest and covering the full-text of Australian and New Zealand newspapers.

Titles from Fairfax (including The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald) and News Ltd (including The Australian, The Adelaide Advertiser, and The Herald Sun) are included, together with transcripts and wire feeds from ABC programs, and with leading regional and local newspaper titles from Australia and New Zealand.

Coverage varies, but most newspaper content is available from the mid- to late-nineties.

The TVNews database is a new (August 2007) Informit Media database, available via Informit Online.

It indexes Australian television news, current affairs, and selected documentaries from the free-to-air networks with links to the digitised video content in a compressed format. All individual stories from a particular broadcast are indexed with a detailed synopsis. TVNews is updated daily, with stories appearing on an evening news broadcast generally being available for access the next morning.

The video for each story or documentary is available in WMV format as a progressive download, allowing viewing to begin before the total video file is transferred. Items range from under 30 seconds for short news stories, to over an hour for selected documentaries. Transcripts are NOT included.

Coverage is from August 2007- present.

This is an index to the archive of the Sydney Morning Herald spanning the years 1955 to 1990. The archive contains 820,000 pages from almost 13,000 issues. No new material is being added to the archive.

CSU does not have access to the full-text of the archive, so it is available here as an index only.

CSU staff and students would need to locate, or request, the full-text of articles in microfilm copies of the paper held at Bathurst, Thurgoona, and Wagga Campus Libraries.

More recent material from the Sydney Morning Herald is available online in full-text in the Factiva database (from September 1986) and the ANZ Newsstand database (from 1996).
