eReserve and Reserve Request Forms
eReserve Form – online subject resources
Use the eReserve Request Form to request that book chapters and articles be placed online for students to access within their online subject. If you would like assistance with updating or locating online resources for students please contact your Faculty Liaison Librarian.
Please note the process change from 6 June 2013: The library will source all material in the eReserve requests. There is no need for academic staff to provide books for scanning.
Further eReserve information:
- Reinstating previous eReserve material
- All eReserve material is removed at the end of each year to comply with Copyright requirements, and is only reinstated if specifically requested by a subject coordinator.
- Books of Readings
- If your subject no longer sends out printed books of required readings, you can submit the contents page, or list of readings to eReserve with the request form.
Please contact the library about updating the reading lists to ensure their currency.
- New eReserve requests
- Complete the eReserve Request Form
- Before submitting an eReserve request, please consider the following:
-
- Copyright laws restricting the amount of material in any one book or journal that can be placed online
- Have you reviewed the readings? Are they still current and appropriate? Do you expect students to read all of them?
- Is there an equivalent article available through the Library’s journal databases?
- Do you have students using screen readers? Scanned eReserve material is not accessible for screen readers without further processing. Please allow extra time, or consider alternative articles through the Library’s journal databases.
- Many eBooks have licensing restrictions limiting the number of concurrent readers or views per year. Please consult with Library staff before setting an eBook as a required reading.
- Would your student’s information literacy skills be improved by encouraging self directed reading? The Library can provide tutorials and assistance.
- Email reserve@csu.edu.au to follow any of these up.
