Accessing eBooks

  1. Under Find Information, select eBooks
  2. Type the keywords required eg:
    • Tourism Australia = an item with the words 'Tourism' & 'Australia' in the title, subject or author fields eg. Brereton, D., 2007, Mining and indigenous tourism in Northern Australia
    • Canfield photography = Canfield, J., 2007 The digital SLR guide: beyond point-and-shoot digital photography
  3. Press Enter or click on the Search button.
  4. Locate the item required from the list displayed, using the Next Page or Prev Page buttons to scroll through the list.
  5. Click on ‘Check Availability’ displayed in the 'Held at' column.
  6. Click on Click here to open.
  • Some of our titles can only be viewed using Internet Explorer (IE) 5.5 and above. The catalogue record will give you this information.
  • Browser and toolbar pop-up blockers must be turned OFF.
  • Do you have an internet security program (e.g. Norton Internet Security) running? It may need to be disabled, users are secure while using these facilities.
  • Some titles allow a limited number of users per book. If you come across this message: "Maximum number of copies are currently in use" just return to the list and select another book or try again later.
  • If you are still unable to access electronic books, let us know through Ask a Question.
