Request a Book or Copy
Books
- Visit the Catalogue.
- Search the catalogue to find the book you want.
- Locate the item required from the Results List displayed, using the Next Page or Prev Page buttons to scroll through the list.
- Click on the Check Availability link to one of the CSU Locations. The link is displayed on the right of the screen. (To display the full bibliographic details of the item, click on the Title instead.)
- Click on the Request a loan link on the left side of the screen. If you want a chapter only from a book and not a loan of the book click on Request a photocopy. Then fill in details about which chapter in the book you would like copied.
- If not already signed in, you will be prompted to identify yourself with a ID number & PIN number (follow prompts on screen).
- Select the Pickup / delivery location required using the drop down list of locations (Distance Education students will have a Home delivery option).
- Type in the dates for the Period of interest (date required by) in the format shown or accept the default.
- Click on the Go button to submit the request.
Note:
- Requests placed via the catalogue are not item specific and the first available copy of the title requested will be supplied
- You can check the status of your request(s) via the My Library Record option described at How do I check my library record.
- Two Day Loan and reference items cannot be requested for loan via the catalogue. You can however place a Photocopy request via the library catalogue for a chapter to be copied from these items.

Copies
- Visit the Catalogue.
- Search the catalogue to find the required book or journal title.
- Locate the item required from the Results List displayed, using the Next Page or Prev Page buttons to scroll through the list.
- Click on the Check Availability link in the ”Held at” column on the right of the screen.
- Click on the Request a photocopy link next to the issue required if listed to display the Photocopy Request screen.
- If not already signed in, you will be prompted to identify yourself with a ID number & PIN number (follow prompts on screen).
- Select the Pickup / delivery location required using the drop down list of locations (Distance Education students will have a Home delivery option).
- Enter the author, title, volume, issue, year and page numbers of the article or book chapter required (Copyright limits apply) .
- Click on the Go button to submit the request .
Note:
You can check the status of your request(s) via the My Library Record option.

Deleting a Request
- Sign in to access My Library Record.
- Click on Hold Requests or Photo Requests link.
- Select the request you wish to delete.
- Click on the number in front of the title.
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
- Click on the Delete button. (If the item is being processed by library staff, the Delete button will no longer appear. Please contact your home campus library to delete.)
