Information for DE Higher Degree Students

Can I access online collections?
Yes. Online journal databases and eBooks are available to you. You can access these and other online resources from the Find Information link on the Library Homepage.
Is there a way I can book a specialised training session with a librarian?
Yes. You can book a session with a librarian using the Book a Librarian form. For more information on the services available to you please see: Off Campus Support
Can I request copies of book chapters and journal articles that are only available in print form?
Yes. Requests for copies can be made online through Primo Search. Copies will be scanned and sent to your email address.

Do I need a Library card to borrow from the Library?
To borrow from the Library all students (excluding Offshore and Overseas DE students), require a current CSU ID card.
Can items be sent to my home address?
Yes. Items requested can be sent to your home address. Library items will be delivered by Australia Post to domestic students and Australia Post International Courier Service to Overseas DE students.

Does the Library post books to DE students living overseas?
Yes, the Library will post books to DE students living overseas who are currently enrolled through an Australian CSU campus. The Library will only lend books and does not include short term loans and Audio Visual (AV) items such as games, test kits, puppets, Interlibrary book loans, videos and DVDs.

Library books cannot be requested from CSU campuses at St. Marks, and Ontario.

Please note: This service does not extend to students studying through CSU Offshore partner and affiliated institutions.

Do I have to pay for items to be sent to me?
The Library will pay the postage cost to send items out.

For DE students living in Australia, return postage is free. A postage paid return address label will be included in each DE postage parcel sent by the Library. This label can simply be affixed to each parcel when posting back to the Library.

The return postage service does not include items borrowed through the Interlibrary Loans scheme and does not extend to DE students living outside of Australia.

Library items should be returned in padded envelopes and can be returned to any campus library.

What are the borrowing and renewing conditions?

Items cannot be renewed if:

  • They are more than two weeks overdue
  • You have unpaid fines of $100 or more
  • Someone else has requested the item
  • You've reached the renewal limit for that item
Am I eligible for Interlibrary loans?
Yes, please see information on FRILLS.
Please note: Overseas DE students are not eligible for this service.
Can I borrow from other Australian universities?
Yes. The University Library Australia and New Zealand (ULANZ) National Borrowing Scheme is available to CSU students. This is a national borrowing scheme for staff and students of Australian Universities.

Please note: Overseas DE students are not eligible for this service.

Can I make use of the Learning Commons on campus?
If you are close to a CSU campus, you are encouraged to make full use of the Learning Commons facilities which are available at Wagga Wagga, Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst and Orange campuses.

Learning Commons are more than just a library and offer a range of services and facilities including the Student Central, Cashier and 24 Hour spaces. The 24 hour space provides 'round the clock' computing, print/copy and study spaces for your convenience.
