The Library has a growing collection of electronic books that are accessible 24/7 on your computer, mobile device or eBook reader. This podcast will give you a brief overview of how to find eBooks, as well as a few helpful tips to get you started.

There is a wide range of eBook titles available in each discipline. You can start your search for eBooks at the Library homepage. Enter some keywords in the Primo Search search box that describe the topic you are researching.

Once you have a list of results, select eBooks under the Refine my Search options on the left of the screen. Click the Availability link for the item you are interested in and then follow the links into the eBook. You will need your CSU ID and password to be able to access the book.

The eBooks accessible via the Library website come from a variety of sources and different collections have varying permissions for online access, printing, downloading and also different system requirements.

Full details are available from the Library website under the eBooks tab in the left navigation bar. This page will also give you full details of the eBook collections the Library has access to. Click on the eBook Collections tab to search them individually.

As a general rule, eBooks require that you turn off pop up blockers while you access the book. Internet security programs such as Norton, can also interfere with your access and may need to be disabled.

Some titles require that you download some extra software to enable you to read the book offline. Information on this can be found in the Library's Frequently Asked Questions - just look for the eBooks link. A short Watch-it video tutorial on finding an eBook can be found in the How to Use Your Library section of the website.

eBooks are a convenient and flexible way to access information where you want it, when you want it. Choose from the hundreds of titles available with no waiting and no overdue fines! See the CSU Library website for more details.
