Customise Output Styles
EndNote includes over 270 generic (e.g. APA, MLA, Chicago) and journal specific referencing styles, as well as many more downloadable styles. However, there are a number of reasons why you might wish to modify an existing style or create a new style:
- You are writing for a particular journal that has very specific referencing guidelines
- You might want to create an annotated bibliography that includes abstracts or information from other fields, along with the normal reference.
- You might have an electronic document that you want to cite in your document, but find that it is not displayed correctly in the list of references. Not all referencing styles correctly cite electronic sources.
If you would like to know how to customise an EndNote output style please refer to the section entitled Bibliographic Styles - pp. 229-261 in the Endnote Help PDF.
