Getting EndNote
Download EndNote
CSU has a Site Licence for the Windows and Mac versions of EndNote.
EndNote can be installed:
- on a computer at home by downloading EndNote from the DIT recommended software page, or by borrowing the CSU installation CDROM from the Library
- on a University computer (staff or postgraduate students only) by requesting the installation of EndNote using the DIT Install Software service.
Double click the install software icon on your computer desktop to launch the 'Run Advertised Programs' dialogue box, from where you can select the latest version of EndNote, and then click on the Run button to install the software.
Please contact the IT Service Desk if the Install Software service is not available to you, or you have any problems installing EndNote on a CSU computer.
EndNote Installation Guide
A Getting Started Guide is available; the latest version of which can be downloaded for Windows and Mac:
If you are upgrading from a previous version of EndNoteX2, see: page 19 of the Getting Started Guide.
We strongly recommend that you uninstall any earlier version of EndNote before you install EndNote X4. See 'Uninstalling EndNote' on page 23.
CSU staff who download and install EndNote on a University computer may find that the EndNote toolbar does not appear in Word. This step-by-step guide to configuring EndNote, produced by the DIT, should fix this problem.
If the EndNote toolbar does still not appear in Word after you have configured EndNote, please contact the IT Service Desk.
