Interlibrary Loans (ILL) - Standard Service
CSU Undergraduate/Graduate Certificate/Graduate Diploma students and general staff can place requests for material not held by CSU Library using an online request form. (Please ensure to click through to the correct form.) There is a charge for this service.
- Note that reciprocal borrowers, community borrowers and local-school borrowers are not eligible for this service.
- Before making a request for a loan, please check the Catalogue for availability.
- Before making a request for a copy of a journal article, please check Article Finder, for CSU availability.
- Use the Interlibrary Loans Request Form found under "Ask Us" on the Library Home Page to request material not available in the CSU Library. Please ensure to click through to the correct form.
- Charges are borne by the individual, or the School of the person making the request (based on any agreement made between the School and the Library). For information on the standard charge, see our FAQ on How much does an Interlibrary loan cost? For information on charges for non-standard services and delivery, see our FAQ on What are non-standard services and delivery?
- Delivery time for Interlibrary loan requests depends on a number of factors and can vary from as little as 1-2 days up to 2 weeks. Copies of articles are usually obtained more quickly than loan items because of the speed and ease of electronic delivery. Other factors affecting delivery time include: accuracy and fullness of the citation provided (by the requestor); availability of the item; and location and turnaround time of the supplier.
- Loan items can be delivered only within Australia; copy requests can be delivered electronically worldwide.
- Off-campus staff and students please note: CSU Library will pay the cost of forwarding Interlibrary loan items to you but you are responsible for return costs to CSU. (Loans obtained through an Interlibrary loan must be returned to CSU Library – not to the library that owns the item.).
All requests for copies of journal articles or book chapters require that you agree to the Copyright Declaration on the form.
