eReserve is a collection of digital resources requested by lecturers to support subjects offered at Charles Sturt University.
The Library works in collaboration with the Division of Learning & Teaching Services (DLTS) to support eReserve.
Where a requested eReserve item is a fulltext article in one of the library databases the requestor will be sent a link to add to their Interact site or Subject Forum. This option provides a faster service.
If you prefer to scan articles or book chapters yourself please refer to the guidelines.
The licence that the University holds permits the making available of electronic copies of printed materials under the conditions set down by the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). All copyright materials need to be processed by the Library or LTS and should not be placed on Interact Sites, Subject Forums or Academic WebPages.
The same limitations that apply to print copies also apply to electronic copies, i.e. generally no more than 10% or one chapter of a work, or one article from a journal issue, may be put online. The University's licence also only enables it to put one part of a work online at a time. For example, if a chapter of a book is already online, then another chapter from the same book cannot be put online until after the first chapter is taken down and then only for a different subject.
PowerPoint displays that contain any third party copyright material for which permission has not been obtained to communicate online must be placed on eReserve in order to manage the copyright limits imposed by the Act. Once loaded on eReserve, you can place a link to the display in Interact. PowerPoints displays that do not include works created by others, or are supplied by publishers may be placed on Interact. For more information on putting ‘Instructor’s Resource’ PowerPoints supplied by publishers online, read the information provided on the CSU Copyright website.
Further information on how much of an item can be put online can be found on the CSU Copyright website; for more information contact the Copyright Coordinator.
The Library will not include material in its Reserve collection (print or electronic) that breaches the Act.
