How to borrow

  1. Login to Primo Search
  2. Search for your book or other items and go to the Availability and Request tab
  3. If you are on campus, use the location details and call number to retrieve from shelf
  4. If you are requesting home delivery, intercampus loan, a digitised copy, or the item is on loan:
    • Select Request (to order the physical item) or Digitisation (to order an electronic copy)
    • Complete the relevant form and then click on Request/Acknowledge Copyright
  5. You can review your requests by going to My Library Record and viewing your Requests (in the left menu)

Renewing your loans

Renew your loans by logging into My Library Record

Items can't be renewed if:

  • They are more than two weeks overdue
  • You have unpaid fines of $100 or more
  • Someone else has requested the item
  • You've reached the renewal limit for that item

Avoid fines by keeping items safe and returning them on time

Home Delivery

Request books and other material from CSU libraries to be delivered to your home address. Home delivery is available to students enrolled through CSU Online study mode, as well as these eligible staff and student groups.

Free return postage is available within Australia for students enrolled through CSU Online study mode. The Library provides one return postage label in each parcel. Allow at least 5 days for delivery through Australia Post regular mail service.

This is a SSAF funded initiative


CSU Online students, enrolled through an Australian campus, can request books to be posted overseas. Return postage costs are covered by the student.

Intercampus delivery

Place requests for items from another CSU Library and choose to have them delivered to your campus. Allow up to 5 working days for delivery.

Digitised copies

Request copies of book chapters, table of contents or journal articles from print resources to be scanned and emailed to you.

Copyright restrictions apply.

Allow 2 working days to receive your emailed copy.

Interlibrary loans

Journal articles, books and other items that are not held by the library, may be requested using our interlibrary loans service. Fees may apply.

Material from other libraries cannot be sent overseas. We are only able to obtain digitised copies of chapters or articles for students outside Australia.

Return items in person or by post to CSU libraries at:

  • Albury-Wodonga
  • Bathurst
  • Dubbo
  • Orange
  • Port Macquarie (in person only)
  • Wagga Wagga

Items should not be posted or returned to other locations.

If returning by post

  • Items must be returned in padded bags
  • CSU Online students requiring reply paid labels should contact the Library
  • You are responsible for covering return postage costs from outside Australia

Please Note: Contact us as soon as possible if you have lost or damaged an item, not received an item or it has not been returned to the library through the post.

Borrowing on workplace learning

  • You are eligible for extended borrowing for the length of your placement, plus one week.
  • Enquire at the Ask Us Desk before going on placement.
  • Request books while on placement via the Workplace Learning Form
  • We will post books to you however return postage is your responsibility
  • Return items in padded bags or in person to your closest campus Library
