What we do
The Learning Materials Centre (LMC) is responsible for the timely and efficient production and dispatch of learning materials for students of CSU. The LMC produces materials in a range of formats, including:
- Online resources delivered via the internet;
- Printed material; and
- Multimedia products (video tapes, CD-Roms and DVDs)
The learning materials are presented in a variety of mediums that cater for different learning styles and allow the introduction of concepts in a context which enhances meaning.
Other key functions of the LMC include:
- Assignment receipt and despatch for Distance Education (DE) students
- Coordination and administration of EASTS (Electronic Assignment Submission Tracking System)
- Administration and monitoring of online subject forums
- Online liaison and support services for students

The LMC maintains vital service relationships with parties both internal and external to CSU. These include:
- Students enrolled at CSU, in Australia and overseas;
- Partners external to CSU providing CSU learning opportunities at remote locations both domestic and international;
- Centre for Enhancing Learning & Teaching (CELT);
- Faculties and Schools of CSU; and
- Other Divisions associated with the provision and support of CSU's education services.
The LMC's key objectives are to:
- Ensure that the learning experiences of CSU students are maximised;
- Embrace innovative learning strategies and optimise their presentation to students;
- Ensure timely, accurate and responsive advice and services are provided in support of CSU's mission;
- Adopt a consultative approach to the evaluation and appraisal of our performance standards; and
- To consistently strive for improvements in service standards.
