Introduction

This module will guide you to develop and then document professional networks which you have developed at CSU including those with peers in the course (GCLTHE), fellow academics and professional staff.

While this module will not be directly assessed, your professional networks are critical to operating as an academic in collaborative environments at CSU. Your professional networks can provide support for your teaching and assist with the design of rich learning experiences for your students

Learning Activities

Learning activity details

You will gain a great deal from this module if you carry out the following learning activities:

Meet with an educational designer for learning and teaching induction; and meet your Media Development Coordinator (MDC) through the Educational Designer.
Meet with the Learning and Teaching committee members in your school – in particular with the chair.
Meet with the course director of the course that you are involved with.
Meet with the Library faculty liaison person.
Meet with an appropriate learning skills advisor by contacting the Manager, Learning and Work – Ruth Durose (email: rdurose@csu.edu.au phone: (02) 6365 7572) to discuss the role of learning support and for the most appropriate contact person on your campus.
Join CSU's social network www.yammer.com using your CSU email address. Approximately 900 staff members have joined Yammer to date.
Join the Interact site "about ICT integration" to be in the know about educational technology developments. This may be done in Interact by going to 'My Workspace', selecting 'Membership' and then locating the site within 'joinable sites' – it might take a while for the sites to appear.

There is no formal assessment in this module, however the activities you've completed will assist you in completing all three assignments.
