Evaluation Services
The responsibilities of Evaluation Services are to directly support the University in some of its key objectives notably to lead in the quality provision of flexible delivery of learning and teaching which:
- is supported by well-researched curriculum and teaching methodologies;
- uses research and technology to be flexible and responsive to student needs and feedback.

To meet these responsibilities, Evaluation Services manages the following:
Online Evaluation of Subjects (OES) system
- The OES system comprises of 11 core items that are mandatory. These core items can be supplemented with a customised set of items that are located in a comprehensive categorised item bank. Evaluation Services provides annual reports on the OES data that have been aggregated across all sessions for Schools, Faculties and the University.
Student Experience Questionnaire (SEQ)
- The SEQ was introduced to examine student satisfaction levels in their first year of study. Receiving early feedback from students will allow enhancements to be made to various aspects of their course.
Other responsibilities of Evaluation Services include:
- administration of the ALTC Awards for University Teaching;
- administration of the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Teaching Excellence as well as the Programs that Enhance Learning;
- support to the University’s Academic Promotions process by preparing validated Comprehensive Reports on online subject evaluations to the Academic Promotion Committee;
- provision of aggregated evaluation data to the University that are critical to informing planning and enhancements to its learning and teaching plans, and
- provision of advice and support to all University staff in matters related to evaluations, customising of surveys, interpretation of survey data and the preparation of subject reviews and Heads of Schools reports on online evaluations.
