Bio

Milena Dunn has been involved in education throughout her entire working life. Milena’s expertise in Science, cross campus teaching and ICT have resulted in her current appointment as Educational Designer for the School of Biomedical Sciences within the Division of Learning and Teaching Services’ Educational Design and Media Team for the Science Faculty.

Milena provides staff development and works collegially on curriculum and course development, particularly the development of resources to enhance blended learning environments. Milena has a special interest in learning environments and staff development that move from the academic as “sage on the stage” to the position of “guide on the side”.

Milena has been working as an Educational Designer at Charles Sturt University (CSU) since July 1995, first with academics in the fields of Information Technology, Mathematics and Librarianship as well as Teacher Librarianship within the School of Information Studies until 2002 and, from 2004 till the end of 2008 providing Educational Design expertise to staff of CSU’s Ontario School of Education and the Wagga Wagga School of Education.

Milena has a Bachelor of Science ( Honours in Zoology) from ANU and a Diploma of Education. Prior to working for CSU Milena was involved with teaching and the development of learning environments since 1976 in many capacities. These have included tutoring at tertiary level, teaching both senior and junior high school courses, together with her ever changing responsibilities as a parent and former Nursing Mothers Counsellor and Group Leader. The skills developed in these roles have assisted in her role as an Educational Designer.
