Advertising
The University's advertising is centrally coordinated to ensure the University presents a consistent, consolidated and coordinated image in all advertising activities.
The Advertising Office is therefore responsible for the placement of all advertising on behalf of the University in all media outlets including newspapers, magazines, television and radio and outdoor advertising. In support of this, the Vice-Chancellor has instructed that 'all advertising must be organised and approved by the Division of Marketing – with the following exemptions'.
Exemptions
- Advertising campaigns not exceeding a total cost of $200
- Advertising by affiliated organisations that do not use the CSU logo, e.g. Western Research Institute and the Winery
- Advertising of motor vehicle tenders
- Staff recruitment activities, advertised by the Division of Human Resources
The close working relationship between the Advertising Office and the University’s external advertising agency guarantees the best possible rates are achieved when buying media. All advertisements qualify for government contract pricing.
Major
campaigns
Throughout the year the Division will run a series of advertising campaigns
to support specific events or areas of study. A schedule of planned
campaigns for 2006 and examples of CSU branding can be found on the resources
page.
Assistance available
The Advertising Office can assist you in developing a coordinated advertising
campaign based on key University messages, any market research data
available and agreed budget. Relevant publications can be sourced based
on established
markets.
Final approval of the advertisement/campaign will be vested with the Division of Marketing. The Division of Marketing will also be responsible for informing Divisions/Schools of inappropriate placement of advertising.
