CSU Media
CSU Media is a professional team of staff, each with backgrounds in communication, media relations and journalism. The team works with advertising, publicity and marketing communications as part of the Division of Marketing.
Charles Sturt University values the knowledge, experience and activities of its staff. As an organisation that makes news, CSU Media works to promote the learning and teaching, research, innovation and achievements of the University, its staff and its students through media organisations and news outlets to the wider community. By providing quality, proactive, accurate and timely information to the media we assist the University in carrying out its mission regionally, nationally and internationally.
The team works to enhance and promote the organisation's reputation, public image and community relations. CSU Media also has a major role in communication within the University, to ensure Charles Sturt University's large and dispersed staff are aware of developments, achievements and University priorities.

CSU Media services
- Oversee the CSU News site
- Develop and implement communication strategy and media plans for key areas of the University
- Coordinate media announcements of the University both internally and externally
- Offer news advice on issues impacting on and involving the University
- Assess and write CSU news releases
- Liaise with news and media staff at local, national and international levels
- Assist in organising interviews and expert commentary
- Monitor media outlets and assess and report on CSU-related material
- Play a key role in managing communication for sensitive issues and critical incidents as they impact on the University and its members
- Position and positively build the reputation of the University
To assist CSU staff in their work with the media, CSU Media has the following resources available:
- CSU News website, which incorporates an Events calendar, a subscription service, the latest CSU news and an Experts listing
- Monthly Media Monitoring Reports, to assist staff in assessing their media activities.
