Strategy Development and Consultancy
People often come to the Division for assistance in a specific area, however the Division is also able to assist at a strategic level with the
development of complete marketing strategies. These services range from consultation
and advice to the implementation of individual strategies.
Strategic ideas may include anything from partnership marketing, mainstream
advertising and the creation of supporting material through to newer technologies
such as internet searching, direct email marketing, SMS and viral marketing
and blogs.
Divisional costs for the implementation of strategies fall well below the
cost of employing external agencies. Marketing expertise or services not available
within the Division will be provided by the University's external advertising
agency.
The ISBN is a unique code used throughout the world for the identification
of books, pamphlets, microfiche publications, educational videos and cassettes,
software and multimedia kits. The 10 digit number is used whenever information
on these products needs to be recorded or communicated. The system coordinates
and standardises internationally the use of numbers so that a single number
identifies on title, or edition of a title, from one publisher anywhere in
the world. As a unique code assigned to a title, an ISBN can:
• Be used to identify books in orders, stock control and library systems;
• Be used in the processing of book orders;
• Incorporate the Australian Product Number (barcodes) for books.
An ISBN is not compulsory and does not provide copyright.
Legal Deposit (National Library of Australia)
As the name suggests, legal deposit is a legal requirement to ensure that
copies of publications are deposited in libraries in the country in which
they are published. In Australia, the Copyright Act 1968 and a number of
State Acts require publishers to provide one copy of any work they publish
to the National Library of Australia. Legal deposit ensures that your book
can be identified and used by as many people as possible.
Sponsorship
The Division does not have a sponsorship budget as such, but is prepared
to re-direct resources as and when required. Sponsorship proposals will be
considered on a case by case basis. Contact Holly Stephens
