Miriam DayhewUniversity OmbudsmanEmail: mdayhew@csu.edu.au Phone ext: 693 34259 Fax: 6933 4218 Area of responsibility: Miriam is principally responsible for the development and maintenance of the University's complaint management systems. The University Ombudsman is an impartial and confidential resource for seeking to address University-related problems, complaints or concerns. The Ombudsman works collaboratively with academic and general staff to help create a campus climate where matters raised are investigated and resolution is facilitated. The Ombudsman can provide information and guidance on rights and responsibilities, University regulations and procedures, and mediation between conflicting parties. The Ombudsman links complaints, problems or concerns into the quality management framework for the University and seeks to use resolution options as tools for quality improvement. The Ombudsman is also the Freedom of Information Officer - under whom relevant legislation is monitored and internal policies reviewed for consistency and reworked as necessary, and FOI requests are processed, and mandatory reporting undertaken. The Ombudsman is also the Privacy Officer - under whom relevant legislation and internal policies are reviewed for consistency, and reworked as necessary. |
