The Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) is conducted annually by the Office of Planning and Audit in association with Graduate Careers Australia.
The purpose of the CEQ is to collect graduates’ perceptions of their higher education experience. The questionnaire contains statements relating to graduates’ perceptions of their course and the respondents are asked to rate their level of agreement with these statements on a five-point scale (one standing for ‘Strongly Disagree’ and five for ‘Strongly Agree’).
Institutions choose the questions to be included in their CEQ by combining the three core scales (Good Teaching, Generic Skills and Overall Satisfaction) with ones from eight optional scales.
CSU currently uses the following CEQ scales: (2007 round onwards)• Good Teaching Scale (6 items)
• Generic Skills Scale (6 items)
• Overall Satisfaction (1 item)
• Learning Resources (5 items)
• Student Support (5 items)
The following scales were used for the 2002 – 2006 survey rounds:
• Good Teaching Scale (6 items)
• Generic Skills Scale (6 items)
• Overall Satisfaction (1 item)
• Learning Resources (5 items)
• Graduate Qualities (6 items)
