Exclusion Notice Information
If you have received an Exclusion Notice (usually via eBox), this means that you have not progressed in accordance with the University's requirements for your course and that you are currently excluded from your course. Exclusion means you will not be able to study in your course for a specified period of time.
You may accept the exclusion or appeal the exclusion.
If you Accept your Exclusion
If you choose to accept your exclusion, your enrolment will be cancelled and your exclusion confirmed at the expiration of the 14 day appeal timeframe.
Preparation and Lodgment of Appeals Against Exclusion
If you wish to appeal your exclusion, the appeal should be lodged by emailing your Faculty at this address:
| Faculty of Arts | |
| Faculty of Business | |
| Faculty of Education | |

It is your responsibility to ensure that your appeal is lodged on time (this is included in your notice but is usually 14 days). Any relevant supporting documentation must be submitted with the appeal.

Interviews with the Faculty
You will not usually be interviewed by the Faculty as part of your appeal, however if deemed necessary by the Faculty, they may request a meeting. The Faculty will consider your case on the basis of the appeal that you submit by email.
Liability
If your appeal is unsuccessful and you are excluded, the University will cancel your liability and refund any course and student fees that you incur during the appeal process. You will remain liable for any other expenses incurred in proceeding with your enrolment (eg purchasing textbooks or costs for accommodation and meals in the residences).
Review of Grade
If you intend to request a review of your grade you must refer to Assessment Regulation 13 of the Assessment Regulations: Coursework Subjects. The application for a review of grade must be made in writing to the Student Administration Office (via Student Central) within 14 days of the notification of the grade. Applications are decided by the Faculty Assessment Committee on the recommendation of the School Assessment Committee.
An application for a review of grade must be completed separately to your appeal. You must however proceed with your appeal in the event that your review of grade is unsuccessful.
Leave of Absence
Please note that exclusion does take precedence over leave of absence and withdrawal from course. This means that taking leave of absence or withdrawing from your course will not prevent the University from excluding you.
Enrolment
If you have appealed within the required time, you may remain enrolled in your course until the appeal is decided. If you have failed a key subject for the second time, please refer to clause 3.5.2.1 of the Academic Progress Regulations for conditions in relation to remaining enrolled in key subjects until your appeal has been decided.
