Charles Sturt University Remission and Re-crediting Procedures

Please note: Students who withdraw from a subject or course prior to the census date will not incur tuition fees or student contribution charges for the subject or course. This Remission and re-crediting procedure does not apply.

Students who withdraw after the census date due to special circumstances can apply to have their:

  • Student Learning Entitlement (SLE) re-credited;
  • HECS-HELP balance re-credited;
  • Up-front payments of student contribution refunded;
  • FEE-HELP balance re-credited; and
  • Tuition fee refunded.

Three factors of eligibility to apply for remission or re-crediting?

1. Student Types

Commonwealth supported students:

  • Students who deferred all or part of their student contribution through HECS-HELP
  • Students who paid their student contribution upfront to Charles Sturt University

Fee paying students:

  • Students who are undergraduate or postgraduate tuition fee paying students.
  • Students who deferred all or part of your tuition fees through FEE-HELP.

2. Withdrawal from the subject or course took place after census date; and

3. The student was unable to continue study due to Special circumstance (as outlined in guidelines).
