- Look up the numeric value of the grade awarded for each subject you have studied in the table below.
eg. ACC100 Accounting 1 DI = 6
ECO110 MicroEconomics CR = 5
LAW110 Business Law PS = 4
MGT100 Organisations & Management FL = 0
Grades included in the GPA:
| High Distinction | 7 |
|---|---|
| Distinction | 6 |
| Credit | 5 |
| Pass | 4 |
| Terminating Pass | 3 |
| Fail | 0 |
| Fail Withdrawn | 0 |
- Next, multiply the numeric value of each grade by the point value of the subject - this can be obtained from your transcript (eg 8 points, 16 points). Total this for each subject studied.
eg. From the example transcript, the numeric value of each of these subjects is 8 points:
ACC100: 6 x 8 = 48
ECO110: 5 x 8 = 40
LAW110: 4 x 8 = 32
MGT100: 0 x 8 = 0
Total = 48 + 40 + 32 + 0 = 120 - Finally divide the total from Step 2 by the total of the point values of the subjects.
eg. Total point value of subjects studied = 8 + 8 + 8 + 8 = 32
GPA = 120 ΒΈ 32 = 3.75
(GPA is calculated correct to 2 decimal places)
Please note: this information is provided as a guide only for students interested in the calculation of the GPA, for your official GPA please refer to your transcript.
