Learning Technologies Unit

The Learning Technologies Unit (LTU) is responsible for providing leadership to CSU on learning technologies. Our work covers three areas:

  1. Strategy – developing University strategies for CSU learning technologies and enhancing our learning environments by evaluating and introducing new technologies
  2. Support – providing system support and professional learning around the implementation and use of learning technologies
  3. Innovation – design and development of new learning technologies.  Tools such as EASTS and Norfolk have been created by the LTU.  We also sponsor the CSU Think Pieces project

Under Assoc Prof Philip Uys (Director, Learning Technologies), the LTU is comprised for four groups:

  1. Learning Technologies & Workplace Learning – led by Dawn Calvert, this team manages Interact2 and other key systems such as CourseSpace, MSI, InPlace and Adobe Connect
  2. Learning Systems – led by Sam Parker, this teams manages a wide variety of learning applications from EASTS and Norfolk, through to DOMS, PebblePad, the Online Moderation System and others
  3. Adaptive Learning and Teaching Services –  led by Dr Cassandra Colvin this team manages processes and tools related to learning analytics, evaluation and feedback, and adaptive/personalised learning 
  4. Learning Spaces Improvement –Phil Hua leads our work looking from an educational perspective at the improvement of on-campus learning spaces
