Welcome To Charles Sturt University
Congratulations
and welcome to the University. You have opened the door to new and exciting
experiences, opportunities and
challenges.
At CSU we understand that your first session of study is likely to involve
hard work - not just academically, but also learning to adjust to your
new role as a University student. This applies whether you are studying
on-campus
or off-campus, in Australia or overseas, and whether or not you are coming
to university straight from school.
To ensure that you have the greatest opportunity for success, we have compiled
this guide based on the experiences of students like yourself. The valuable
tips and advice in this guide are their suggestions.
It is important to remember that you are not alone. Student mentors are
available to provide advice and support, and you will have continuing access
to this
support during your first session of study. As well as seeking encouragement
and assistance from your friends and fellow students, you are encouraged
to use the many services available to you at CSU. Take advantage of these
by working your way through this guide and completing the suggested activities.
At CSU we value student feedback, so we would welcome your comments and
suggestions about this guide. An online evaluation form is available on the Guide to Learning website.
Wishing you every success in your studies,
Professor Lyn Gorman
Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Administration)
