Are your immunisation records up-to-date? Do you have all the immunisation information needed for clinical placement?

Orientation program is in full swing. Remember your sun protection as the UV rays are very fierce in this area. Fluids, fluids and more fluids and that means water!! Keep well hydrated.
Eyes peeled for the special at Valentines Day.

Health promotions will be offered to help students develop and maintain skills to keep them healthy while attending university. Bad habits are easy to develop. Keep a look out for ‘Survival Week’.
Fluvax immunisation is now available at your GP’s. This is highly recommended for all people with asthma, diabetes and all people living on residences.

Congratulations to any student who is graduating this month.
Try to have your fluvax this month before the influenza season hits. Prevent yourself from getting ill, as influenza hits when students are busy and tired in winter and you are least able to manage a serious infection which can slow you down and get you behind in your work.

This is a very busy time leading up to exams. Remember to eat well, exercise and try and get some sleep. Drug & Alcohol Awareness promotions will be in full swing during this month as the National Campaign is for June but no students will be on campus due to exams and up coming break. Colds and flu are still around so take care of yourself and contact a doctor if symptoms persist.

Asthma and hay fever are here again. Seek early treatment for best results. Continue on your asthma maintenance program.

This is a busy time as students try to finish all outstanding work, stress is a big time! Ways to handle this will be offered in the Mental Health Promotion that will be run during this month.

It is the end of the semester, examination and assignment time. If you are feeling stressed or run down, come and talk about it. Don’t leave it until you are completely falling apart and exams are suffering. Help is here for you!
