Prospective students 

Darrambal Skills Assessment Program

Darrambal gives Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students the opportunity to attend University-style classes and learn skills needed for success at University.  Students who successfully complete Darrambal may be offered a place at CSU to study their preferred course. Alternatively, they may be encouraged to first undertake some other course of study either with CSU or another suitable provider.

Djirruwang Program

Djirruwang is a Mental Health Education & Training Program which delivers a tertiary course in mental health via mixed mode. It has restricted entry and is designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to gain high quality knowledge, skills and attitudes in the field of mental health.

Current students 

Tutorial assistance - ITAS

The Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme (ITAS) is a Commonwealth funded program that can provide you with one-on-one private tuition from a qualified ITAS tutor if you need assistance with your studies.

Away from Base (AFB)

The Away From Base Scheme provides you with financial assistance if your course requires you  to travel away from your home or study location for a short period of time.  This assistance is limited and only available for specific courses.  AWB is available for some Distance Education courses and some on campus courses.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Forum

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander forum is only available for use by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Students are encouraged to use it to make new friends and contacts, keep up with current events at CSU and within ISS, discover opportunities such as scholarships or cadetships, for social networking, to discuss important issues and keep in touch with ISS staff. It also allows them to become familiar with using online forums which is an important part of their course. Students have said having this forum provides them with a sense of belonging.
