WINAN-GIDYAL IS A WIRADJURI WORD MEANING "LEARNING/KNOWLEDGE"
The Winan-Gidyal Unit is located on the Thurgoona site of Charles Sturt University at Albury-Wodonga.
Indigenous students studying at Albury-Wodonga are enrolled in full-time and part-time modes and study by on-campus and distance education. Common courses include courses offered by the School of Environmental Sciences, such as the Bachelor of Applied, Science (Parks Recreation and Heritage), the Associate Degree of Applied Science (Parks, Recreation and Heritage) and the Bachelor of Applied Science (Adventure Ecotourism). Other available courses include Business (Accounting), Health (Nursing), Information Technology, Photography, Early Childhood Education and many others.
Staff can assist and support prospective students in many areas, such as applications for admission, funding through various government assistance, accommodation inquiries, study skills, careers, tutorials and general support.
Winan-Gidyal occupies space within the Learning Commons located on the Thurgoona site at Albury-Wodonga and consists of two staff offices, one student IT room (containing two student computers, phone line, printer/fax/scanner and wireless capabilities) and a resource room with kitchen facilities, data projection and lounge. All facilities are available to ATSI students.
KAP - Koori Admissions Program is offered to all ATSI people as an alternative admission to university program with appropriate education.
