I am a Wiradjuri man of the Bogan River mob out near Peak Hill in NSW, nephew to Ngangaana and son to Yalmambirra. My traditional name is Bundadhaany, which roughly translates as Illustrator. Currently I'm the Indigenous Community & Student Liaison Officer for the Winan-Gidyal Indigenous Student Services, Charles Sturt University at Albury/Wodonga (Thurgoona) campus.
I have undertaken and obtained a degree through Charles Sturt University in Bachelor of Applied Science (Parks, Recreation & Heritage), and continue to learn Wiradjuri culture through the Wiradjuri Eldership and knowledge system.
I have spent the past few years working for and with Koori communities in Natural Resource Management within organisations such as the Department of Land & Water Conservation (DLWC), Sydney Catchment Authority (SCA), Chipping Norton & Illawarra Lakes Authorities (CNLA & ILA), Department of Infrastructure Planning & Natural Resources (DIPNR), and the Hawkesbury-Nepean Catchment Management Authority (HNCMA).
I was an Aboriginal project officer for the Commonwealth Government's Comprehensive Coastal Assessment in the area of Aboriginal Cultural Landscape Mapping and later involved with the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute's Mapping Country Project. I have developed and implemented a diversity of management plans for both natural and cultural resources, created a number of successful Memorandums of Understandings (MoU's) between NRM agencies and Aboriginal community groups.
I remain closely involved in both Wiradjuri and local Koori community as well as the natural resource management sector.
