Individual Consultations

Enrolled CSU students can make an appointment with a Learning Skills Adviser to discuss ways of improving your approaches to university learning. These consultations are free and can be in person or online.

Please note that consultations are teaching and learning sessions. Learning Skills Advisers can assist you to develop your skills in structuring assignments correctly and to develop your own study and editing skills, but do not offer a proof-reading or editing service or advice on content.

How to make an appointment

All individual consultations with a Learning Skills Adviser must be made through Student Services Support Central on 1300 734 654.

When speaking to Support Central, you should indicate:

Online appointments

If utilising an online appointment, Support Central will make an appointment for a  Learning Skills Adviser to respond to your query. You will be sent a confirmation email indicating the email address of your adviser. You will need to forward the Learning Skills Adviser a draft of your work beforehand with the assessment question and a note of your specific questions or concerns. If your query is related to general study skills you should outline this in the email prior to the appointment. At the end of the appointment time, the Learning Skills Adviser will email a response to your query, usually providing some feedback, advice and/or direction to further resources. Your emailed query must reach the Learning Skills Adviser well before the appointed time in order for a timely response to be received.
