Comment: Plagiarism; the source has not been cited; some synonyms have been used, but the original structure of the sentence is the same.
Appropriate paraphrase: Effective communication underpins success within the different levels of an organisation (Bate & Sharpe 1996).
Comment: Not plagiarism; the language is fully rewritten; the sentence structure has changed; a citation is provided. This paraphrase then becomes a part of "Your Voice" as the sentence structure and vocab selected will be more in tune with your style of writing.
