Learning Skills is central to the provision of high quality learning and teaching
at Charles Sturt University.
Mission Statement
Our mission is for all CSU students to be aware of and have access to a professional team that provides a quality learning skills service to empower our students to achieve their learning goals in a rapidly changing university environment.

We are committed to providing you with a professional, supportive, client-centred service in order to empower you to achieve your learning goals.When you deal with the Learning Skills team we will:
- Be courteous, honest and helpful and respect you as an adult learner
- Identify ourselves in all communications
- Abide by our Student Privacy Policy
- Direct incorrect queries to appropriate areas within CSU
- Treat your queries seriously and liaise with academic staff on your behalf where appropriate
- We will assist you by identifying problem areas and suggesting ways of improving them.
- Direct you to additional resources or assistance from other specialists within Student Services
We will not:
- Edit your assignments
- Correct your grammar and spelling.
- Assist you with the academic content of your assignments
- Estimate your final grade
We ask you to:
- Be polite and courteous to our staff and others using the services
- Detail your query as best you can for us
- Take advantage of the full range of online resources and STUDY LINK programs available to you
- Thoroughly proof read your draft assignment before you request Learning Skills assistance
- Follow through on suggestions made by Learning Skills advisers
- Understand that there are times of the year when there is considerable load on Learning Skills staff and make your appointments or queries as early as possible
- Notify us when you are unable to attend an appointment or are likely to be late
- Provide us with suitable feedback on our services in order to improve them.
