How We Can Help
Learning Skills advisers can assist students to:
- develop learning strategies that work for tertiary study
- manage the process of writing essays or reports
- develop and refine analytical and critical reading skills
- improve exam techniques
- enhance academic language and learning skills
- use study time efficiently and effectively
This is done in a variety of ways:
Learning Skills advisers will help you identify areas for improvement in your assignments, and assist you to develop strategies to improve your skills in academic literacy and learning. We may comment on the structure and form of your work, and are available to offer help in understanding, interpreting critically, and responding to an assignment task or essay topic. Advisers will suggest resources to help you study and learn independently.
Full research students should contact the Centre for Research and Graduate Training for academic language and learning support.
At Learning Skills, we believe that the work you submit must be yours, so we will not correct your grammar and spelling, or suggest changes to the actual content of your work. We do not proofread.
