Leave of Absence

Follow above link to Enrolment Regulations and scroll down to clause 14

If you know in advance that you will be unable to study in an upcoming session, then you should consider applying for leave of absence. You are entitled to four sessions leave of absence in a four year period, and it's a great option if you need time to deal with things at home, need to work full-time to boost the coffers, or simply want a break from your studies.

Under certain circumstances additional periods of leave may be granted, but applications must be well documented and are subject to the approval of the Head of School.

How do I apply for leave of absence?

Normally applications for leave which do not exceed the maximum leave permitted are automatically granted. You can apply for leave on-line through My.CSU (Subject Info>Vary my enrolment>(sign in with password)> Apply for Leave).

Alternatively you can put your request in writing to the Student Administration Office. You should specify the session(s) in which you wish to take leave (eg Session 1, 2011) and give reasons for the application.

If you are applying for leave that exceeds the maximum leave permitted, put your request in writing to the Student Administration Office. The reasons for requesting extended leave should be clearly explained and supported by documentary evidence.

he deadline for the lodgement of applications for leave of absence is 5pm on the census date of the session in which leave is requested. See Principle Dates for when the Census Date occurs.

For assistance with your application or questions, contact the Student Support Officer on your campus.
