Exams and other Assessment
Special conditions
Students with a disability seeking special conditions in an examination must register with the Disability Service, providing documentation from a relevant health professional. For intra-session tests, students must submit their request by week 2 of the teaching session. For the end of session examinations, requests must be made by week 6 of the teaching session.
Special conditions to provide reasonable adjustment for disability may include extra time, separate room, coloured paper, large print, use of a computer, scribe or reader.
It is worthwhile to familiarise yourself with the University Regulations in the Academic Manual concerning Assessment especially clause 7 on delayed or incomplete assessment and clause 17 on exams; and also Special Consideration, clause 3 on misadventure and extenuating circumstances, clause 4 on the different types of request for special consideration, and clause 5 on the type of documentation you will need.
Contact a Disability Liaison Officer or the Examinations Office for more information.
