CSU Interact

The Interact Environment

CSU Interact is an integrated online scholarly environment to meet the university community's communication and collaboration needs for learning and teaching, for research or project work, and for a virtual space that can act as a social resource as well. Each Interact site contains a collection of useful web-based software tools that are designed to allow students, lecturers, researchers and administrators to create and share virtual 'spaces', according to the purpose of a created worksite.

Interact sites are situated behind the University's secure online environment, which means that only the people who are authorised to do so can see or participate in a particular site.

You do not need advanced technical skills to use Interact, beyond a general familiarity with using the Internet and working with documents and folders on a computer. Nor will you require specialised software to be loaded onto your computer, as Interact works through your existing Web browser. This means that you can access your Interact sites from any computer that has Internet connection by logging in with your current CSU ID and password.

Because Interact has been set up for a variety of uses (learning and teaching in the full range of subjects; taking part in a number of research groups; establishing project collaboration), there is a need to create different 'spaces'  or 'worksites'. Worksites are like mini-websites for different groups of people within Interact. For example, the subject AGB233 Agribusiness Management 1 has a subject site; AGB340 Rural Resource Economics has a separate subject site, and so on. You will be a member of more than one subject site - depending upon how many subjects you are enrolled in. You could be a member as well of several project sites, depending upon your interests and involvement within the university community.

Any time you want to leave the Interact online environment, click the red logout button; then you can click the CSU shield, located at the top left-hand side of the web page, to return to the CSU homepage. Or you can scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click the my.csu label.
