Electronic mail or email is one of the most useful and widely known features of the Internet. Email uses the Internet to send messages from one computer to another. Similar to sending a letter to someone, and email can sit in a person's 'letterbox' until they decide to read their mail.
The University provides an electronic mail service for all of its students, which is called WebMail. The email address of students at CSU takes the form of:
<username>@postoffice.csu.edu.au
where the username is your first initial, plus the first five letters from your family name, plus two digits to ensure that the username is unique. For example, Judith Williamson may have a username of jwilli05. In her case, her email address at CSU would be:
jwilli05@postoffice.csu.edu.au
The University mails by post your unique username, default password and PIN shortly after you have enrolled. If you have not received this information, or have misplaced it, contact the IT Service Desk or phone 1300 653 088.
