All residents that cancel or forfeit their place in the Halls of Residence must notify the Service Centre in writing and complete a Room Cancellation Form.

| A.8.1.1 | Where the University is unable to offer a place in the Halls of Residence and cancels the application, $120 of the application fee, the entire services fee, entire IT Levy and the entire orientation tariff will be refunded. | ||
| A.8.1.2 | Where a first year applicant cancels the application, the University will refund the services fee, IT levy and orientation tariff only. | ||
| A.8.1.3 | Where a continuing student cancels their application, only the services fee and IT levy will be refunded. | ||
| A.8.2 | Between 12 midday Wednesday, 6 February and 12 midday Friday, 15 February: | ||
| A.8.2.1 | Where a first year student cancels, no refund of the application fee, services fee, IT levy or orientation tariff will be made, however, no further notice will be required of intention to vacate. | ||
| A.8.2.2 | Where a continuing student cancels, they will be charged notice of two weeks Self Catered Cottage casual weekly rate. No refund of the application fee or services fee will be made. Only the IT Levy will be refunded. | ||
| A.8.3 | After 12 midday Friday of Orientation Week (15 February): | ||
| A.8.3.1 | Where a student cancels their place prior to the end of second session, ie 21 November 2008, written notice must be provided during the students paid package option and a fee equivalent to 10% of the entire period of occupancy will be charged. Notice must be received fourteen (14) days in advance of the day of departure or the student will be charged an extra fee. The fourteen (14) days notice must be within the paid package option or the balance of days will be charged. Note: Accommodation fees paid in advance will be refunded. |

| The following exceptions will apply: | |||
| A.8.3.2 | Students who vacate their place on the last Friday of first session, ie 20 June 2008, must give at least fourteen (14) days notice, in writing. Notice must be received in advance or notice will be charged, at the in-session rate but no further penalties will apply. | ||
| A.8.3.3 | Students who withdraw or defer enrolment, change study mode to distance education or who are transferring campuses within CSU courses, will be charged one weeks Self Catered Cottage casual weekly rate. Supporting documentation must be supplied. | ||
| A.8.3.4 | Students who are studying at CSU on an international exchange program will be exempt from any penalty charge upon completion of their exchange period providing they have been in the Halls of Residences for one full session. Students who are travelling abroad on student exchange or study abroad will be exempt from any penalty charge upon leaving to start their exchange program providing they have been in the Halls of Residences for one full session. Supporting documentation must be supplied. | ||
| A.8.3.5 | Students who are excluded from the University are exempt from any penalty charge. Supporting documentation must be supplied. | ||
| A.8.3.6 | Students who are transferring between CSU campuses and will continue to reside in the Halls of Residences must complete a room change form. A room change fee will apply but no further penalties will apply. | ||
