Check In/Out Times

Check in time: 2:00pm - 6:00pm daily

Check out time: 8:00am - 9:00am daily

If arriving earlier than the check in time, luggage may be stored at the check-in location.

Support Central will be staffed from 2:00pm - 6:00pm daily. If you plan to arrive after 6pm from Monday – Friday or on the weekend when Support Central is unattended, you MUST make prior arrangements by sending an email to accommodation@csu.edu.au. If you do not make prior arrangements, there is no guarantee you will be able to check-in.

For Dubbo Campus - please see your confirmation email (open the link: Dubbo Residential Information - Self Catered Option) for arrival instructions outside of 2:00pm-5:00pm weekdays.

For arrival at Orange Campus, outside of 2:00pm - 5:00pm weekdays, please email Orange for specific arrival instructions.

The EARLY-BIRDRATE is available to students who book prior to the Early Bird date. This date is announced with the eBox message sent from Students Services when announcing the opening of the Accommodation Online Booking Form.

Alteration/Cancellation charge is $25.00. This fee is charged for all changes made to bookings, whether changing dates or cancelling nights.

Residential School Equity Scholarships are available. Information is available on the Equity website.

Booking Accommodation

You must Book Online using the online booking facility.

Students who wish to make a group booking or chose Catered Cottages or the Self catered option must submit their booking forms prior to the end of the Early Bird Date.

Please ensure you have booked the required nights for accommodation, (not lecture days only). Your booking entitles you to a room from 2pm on the day of arrival until 9.00am on the day of departure.

Description of Residences

Halls of Residences option - these are the traditional halls, which are older style accommodation with a high number of bedrooms per Hall. The Traditional Diggings Halls are used as the Halls of Residences at the Bathurst campus. However, if Traditional Diggings is fully allocated, John Oxley Village will then be used as a Halls of Residences style at this Campus .

  1. Halls of Residences are not available as an option at the Dubbo Campus.
  2. Cottage option - this is cottage style accommodation, sharing a cottage with seven other students. At Bathurst campus, some of the cottage accommodation is in larger blocks, sharing with up to fifteen students per floor. Cottages are not available as an option at the Orange Campus.
  3. Self Catered option - these residences have kitchens with either an oven or microwave, or a convection/microwave oven.

Meals

  1. Catered option (Wagga Wagga and Bathurst ONLY) - your booking entitles you to Dinner, Bed, Breakfast and Lunch with your first entitlement being the evening meal on the day of your arrival. All meals are covered during this period up to and inclusive of lunch on the day of your departure. This option is not available at Orange or Dubbo campuses.
  2. Self Catered option - no meals provided. Crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc are NOT supplied. Please note - Orange and Dubbo campuses no longer offers catered accommodation for fulltime or distance education students so you are provided with basic cooking utensils for your self catered accommodation.. At Orange, the on-campus Bistro is open from 9am-3pm Monday to Friday and offers a variety of sandwiches, drinks and cooked lunches. Lunches can be purchased and stored in your room fridges for evening meals. The price range for Bistro meals is $6-$10. A range of grocery items including milk , bread and frozen meals can be purchased from the Bistro . Items for preparing meals are supplied in the residences. At Dubbo, the on-campus Cafe is open 10am-2pm.

Room Contents

All rooms are single study student rooms with share common facilities (i.e.bathrooms, TV/common room, etc.) within each of the buildings.

The bedroom is furnished with a single bed, study desk, chair and wardrobe.

Bed linen, pillow, blankets/bedspread or doona, towel and soap are provided.

Items you may require

Students may consider bringing: alarm clock, desk lamp and clothes hangers.

Self Catered option- students must bring their own crockery, cutlery, pots, pans utensils, tea towels and dish cleaning items etc.

Phones and Data

Individual phones are installed in each student bedroom and can be used by students to make and receive calls. A compliant phonecard can only be purchased from the Mini Mart on-campus at Bathurst and Wagga Wagga and at Orange Campus from the Cashier’s Office.

For students to access internet data from their room through the CSU Network, you will be required to have an IBM compatible computer, a network card and a category 5 cable which you will need to purchase from a Computer outlet.

Special Accommodation Requests

  1. Groups of students who wish to be in the same residence can request this, provided that each student includes in their online application for accommodation, the student ID numbers of all members of the group and that all members of the group complete their application prior to the Early Bird date. If all applications are not made prior to this Early Bird cut off date these members will be individually allocated. Groupings cannot be guaranteed. If changes to bookings are requested after the Early Bird Booking period or if an incorrect student ID number is supplied, group bookings will not be processed and students will be individually allocated
  2. Families- accommodation provided is of a single study/bedroom style. Students who wish to bring their partner and/or children are asked to email accommodation@csu.edu.au with their request.
  3. Disabilities-students with a disability, attending a Residential School and requiring a personal carer to accompany them, will be accommodated at no charge for accommodating the carer, however meals will be required to be purchased from the dining hall, providing that the student has registered their need for a carer with the Disability Liaison Officer prior to their attendance at the Residential School. Please submit an email to accommodation@csu.edu.au reporting accommodation as a carer, for whom and what dates.
