Family Guidebook

A guidebook for Parents and Partners of 1st Year CSU Students

Charles Sturt University welcomes parents and partners of new students. The Division of Student Services designed this guidebook, as a student's link with success, to address your needs as a family member of a new CSU student. Please use this guidebook as a resource for your family to explore the range of support services available to students studying on campus. For new students and their families the transition to university brings special challenges. During the first year of study, students will undergo many new life experiences. Making this transition can be a difficult time for students and their families. The Division of Student Services has compiled some general information on academic life, student support services, and some helpful information and suggestions that we hope you will find useful. You can use this guidebook to refer students to important campus services when a student experiences the inevitable ups and downs that happen in universities.Additional information, not covered in the edition of the guidebook available here, will be made available in the near future. If you have any suggestions or feedback for future editions of this Family Guidebook, please contact the Student Community Coordinator at any of the campuses.

Homesick?

It is not uncommon to feel homesick. Below are some downloadable documents with useful information.

If your feelings persist and/or they seriously start to interfere with your study, you may consider speaking to a counsellor.
