What you need to know...

Principal Dates

There are important dates and deadlines that will affect your withdrawal from a course or subject. You must consider the following questions and take appropriate action:

Government Financial Assistance Schemes

You must be aware of your obligations if you receive financial assistance from Austudy, Abstudy or Youth Allowance. You have a legal obligation to advise these organisations of your changed circumstances. If you are not careful you may be billed for payments you received when you were not entitled to them.

Refund of Fees

There are circumstances where you may be able to arrange for refund or credit of fees. You may be eligible for a refund/credit of:

Academic Transcript

Get a copy of your Academic Transcript! This is useful if applying for re-entry to any course or institution, or seeking credit transfer. It will complement your resume and demonstrate the studies that you have completed. To receive a copy of the transcript, contact your Student Administration Office. A fee will be charged for this service, which can be paid online.

Eligibility for Graduating

Do you think you have enough units to graduate? Check carefully to see if you have fulfilled the subject criteria for your course. If you have completed the required course structure, you may be eligible to graduate.

Further Study

There are many options if you wish to continue your studies. You will need patience and time to consider the many courses and institutions on offer, and find something that is right for you. You may negotiate further study with CSU, other universities or TAFE. Many institutions offer study by full-time, part-time and distance education. Broadening your learning opportunities even further. Some handy tips for deciding on further study may help:

Credit Transfer

Most universities and TAFE grant credit for previous study. Many do not expect students to repeat study completed to an acceptable standard. The institution may advise students of credit granted when an offer of a place is made. This will ensure that you do not repeat studies already completed, saving you valuable time and HECS charges. Request assistance about recognition of prior learning. Alternately, advise the University or TAFE you are applying to about your possible credit subjects.

Documentation

Your CSU documentation will come in handy if and when you reapply for admission to CSU or when applying for admission to other institutions. It is most important to keep everything together and safe, should you need it. Important documents which you should retain on file include:
