University Governance

About

Charles Sturt University is committed to delivering the highest standards of governance and to establishing the culture required to assure our stakeholders of our strategic focus, operational performance and institutional accountability.

The University Council is the governing board of the University and is constituted to ensure the proper stewardship and strategic direction of the University and is directly accountable to the members of the University for creating and delivering value through effective governance.

The Council currently has 15 members who reflect the perspectives and capabilities of our various stakeholders, our students, graduates, staff and our communities.

The administration of the Council is managed by the Corporate Governance Unit within the Office of Corporate Affairs.  The University Secretary is responsible for the oversight and overall management of corporate governance services to the Council and its committees (excluding the Academic Senate which is supported through the Office of Academic Governance).  Committee meeting papers, agendas and minutes are available to all members of the Council.

The Corporate Governance Unit is managed by the Deputy University Secretary and Manager, Corporate Affairs.
