- La Universidad Abierta es una Institución de Educación Superior que ofrece servicios educativos exclusivamente en la modalidad abierta o a distancia. Esta modalidad permite al estudiante desarrollar cada materia sin la necesidad de asistir a un salón de clases o a un horario específico de clase, transformando el tiempo libre en tiempo efectivo de estudio, de manera autodidacta e independiente. Cada alumno trabaja al ritmo de estudio que le conviene. La duración de cada licenciatura podrá variar entre 3 ó 4 años en condiciones de trabajo normales, se considera normal la dedicación de 10 horas de estudio efectivo por semana. La duración de una carrera dependerá de la intensidad de estudio, y de las habilidades y destrezas que tenga cada estudiante, por lo que se podrá alargar o acortar la duración de estudios según la capacidad de autoaprendizaje o autodidactismo de cada uno. Las inscripciones, y las fechas de evaluación son permanentes. La Universidad, proporciona al estudiante los libros y/o material didáctico necesario a través de su página electrónica para el desarrollo de su actividad académica. No existen exámenes presenciales, las evaluaciones se hacen por medio de trabajos de investigación, ensayos, síntesis, cuadros conceptuales, ejercicios, solución de problemas y otras actividades especificadas en las guías de estudio de cada materia. La Universidad Abierta cuenta con Reconocimiento de Validez Oficial de Estudios (R.V.O.E. 05/07/95, 18/09/98) otorgado por la Secretaría de Educación del Gobierno del Estado de San Luis Potosí, S.L.P., y publicado en el Periódico Oficial de fecha 6 de junio de 1996, y esta debidamente registrada ante la Dirección General de Profesiones de la Secretaría de Educación Pública. - Wilmington College is a private, co-educational, career-oriented, liberal arts college founded in 1870 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). The college is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Wilmington College is located in the rural city of Wilmington, Ohio, nearly equidistant from Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus. The main campus occupies 67 acres in the heart of the city. Over 1,200 acres of the surrounding county are owned or leased for five farms used as both commercial operations and teaching laboratories for students majoring in agriculture. Wilmington is the only private college in the state that offers a four-year degree in agriculture.
